Attendance: We need you in school every day!! Remember to bring documentation for all absences.
Class Rule: Respect the time that is set aside to meet the class’s educational needs. What does this look like?
Supplies
- When you are absent you have 5 days to make up any missed work. This includes missed assessments, quizzes, classwork, or homework requiring only one day to complete. Long term assignments are exempt from this policy.
- Missed work is a zero until made up within 5 days. After 5 days the grade will remain a zero.
- Schedule make up work before the 5th day. “Forgetting” isn’t an option. We must be responsible.
- An assignment (projects/homework) scheduled before an absence is due the day you return to school. You do not have an extra 5 days to complete the assignment if you are absent the day it is due.
- If you miss critical information for an assessment while you are absent, we will schedule an alternative day for the assessment. Otherwise, you are expected to take assessments on the day they are assigned if I determine you were given the information for the assessment in a timely manner.
- Avoiding procrastination is a strategy for academic success. As an academic incentive, you may earn extra credit on assignments that take more than one day to complete. Work turned in up to 3 days early will receive 5 extra credit points per day up to 3 days. I do not give extra credit assignments.
- Per school policy major assignments not turned in by the designated due date can be submitted late with a penalty of 10 points per day up to 40 points maximum deducted.
- You will have 3 hall passes each 9 weeks. These passes are for requests to use the restroom, make phone calls, go to guidance, see a principal, etc. Any student who requires more than 3 passes should have documentation of such with the school nurse or please have your parent/guardian contact me.
- Plagiarism is cheating. In some cases you may be required to do an assignment over if you are caught plagiarizing or cheating. Other cases may result in a zero with no chance to resubmit the assignment.
Class Rule: Respect the time that is set aside to meet the class’s educational needs. What does this look like?
